Debiosk Stable: Information and download section
Sorry folks... Neither this site, nor the images, have been updated in a very long time. Things have gotten busy and my spare time is becoming scarce and increasingly precious. If somebody wants to pick up this project, please feel free to contact me through the typical means.
NOTE: If you do not plan on making your own changes to Debiosk, then do not bother downloading the Debian Live configuration! The configuration files are for creating your own customized live CD, tailored to your liking (by you, of course). All that is needed to start the ISO is, well, the ISO.
ISO - Ready to go Web Kiosk
Features in this release (v0.1rc3)
- Firefox (2.0.0.8)
- Small - less than 110 MB
- Runs as a live CD - just burn to a disk, place in a machine and reboot!
- Based on Debian Etch
- No Xterm, no sudo access and no conceivable way to get a shell (why is this important?)
- All data gets saved to memory and nothing is saved to disk
- Furthermore, whenever a new session is started (CTRL-ALT-Backspace) all their personal info gets erased permenantly
- A firewall stops unwanted incoming AND outgoing traffic (why is this important?)
